Mini Erasers Target Dollar Spot

One of the main questions I get when I post on my Instagram about mini erasers is where I get them from. The answer is easy, for me, it’s Target Dollar Spot. You get 60 mini erasers for $1 and I have been collecting them for a couple of years. I also know amazon, party city and oriental trading sell them too. Click on the photo below to grab the Target mini erasers online while supplies last.

My Crack the Code Games come with sight word options, but it is also in a bundle. In the bundle, there are CVC and CVCE words, S Blends, R Blends, L Blends, and 20 Bonus Digraph cards! As you can see in this photo the target mini eraser alphabet set comes in handy. Students can use the letter mini erasers to solve the code, using the initial letter sound for the picture and matching it with the letter.

My students and I love using this as a literacy center to help them spell their sight words. Also, it helps them learn beginning letter sounds and it is the perfect review game to use at the end of a unit. Having multiple Crack the Code Games you can choose from throughout the year allows your students to be familiar and they will know how to play it.

Bonus Mini Eraser Game

target-mini-erasersAfter seeing how much my students loved the Crack the Code Games and using the letter mini erasers, I wanted a game that included more mini erasers from Target. I decided that I wanted a “Create Your Own” task card for the game. It comes with blank templates for 1 letter to 6 letters. Students take mini erasers to take the place of the pictures and make their own words.

Students will take mini erasers and make words based on their initial sounds. Example: Apple and Taco make the word “at.”

This game is the perfect challenge for high-level thinkers. You can even give prompts to the students like thinking of words that start with a certain letter, must have a short vowel sound or blend in it. I even made a list of mini erasers that start with each letter (except for x). If you don’t have letter mini erasers, laminate the cards and use dry erase markers to write the words.

This bonus you can grab here or by clicking on the photo above or below. It also comes with a list of mini erasers that match each letter of the alphabet except for the letter “x”. If you don’t have tons of mini erasers, keep your eyes open during the holidays and summer more get added in the Dollar Spot. Also, follow me on Instagram as I post about them when they come out. Students could also draw pictures instead.
