Crayon Storage Hack
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of my favorite crayon storage hacks is using planters. The ones pictured above are from Hobby Lobby’s 2019 Spring Shop Collection. They had the perfect amount of holders for the different colors of crayons. The 6 individual spots are for the colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. I also plan on making another one with the colors pink, indigo, brown, black, white, and gray. I then have a separate section for skin tone crayons, using the new Crayola Colors Of The World.
I loved this crayon storage hack because whenever my students need a specific color they can come over here and grab it instead of digging for a color. In kindergarten, we do share supplies so there are always times where students can’t find things because someone else has it. This eliminates them from coming up to me and asking for a specific color.
These planters could also be used to store other supplies for the classroom like paperclips, pushpins, staples, etc. You would just make different vinyl labels to match what is inside.
Directions On How To Make Crayon Storage Labels:
Using my Cricut, I made crayon cutouts with different color vinyl that matched the colors of the crayons. It was super easy to use. The first things you’ll need are vinyl that matches and my SVG images on my design space. Click here to view these exact clip art.
Step One:
After opening up design space, place vinyl onto the cutting mat. Use the Cricut to out of the crayon vinyl. I measured the space for where the vinyl was going and then cut off the section fo vinyl I needed. Do this for each color.
Step Two:
Then take the weeding tools and take out the part of the crayons you don’t need. Use the scraper to put it on the transfer tape.
Then gently pull it off and place onto the planter section that you need.
I also used white vinyl to make the title.
