Cricut Handwashing Signs

Washing hands is going to be so important this school year. I wanted to create something special for each student to encourage them to wash their hands and help them remember to wash their hands. I used my Cricut to create handwashing signs with a quote on the plastic containers from Michales that holds soap bars with mini erasers in it. These mini erasers are from HappiCrafts but can easily be made with these directions below from UltimateHPSoap and you will just add mini erasers to the mix from Michaels, Amazon, or Target Dollar Spot.

How To Create The Handwashing Signs:

Measure the container you are placing your handwashing sign on and then pick a font from Cricut Design Space. I picked a font that was easy to read for Kindergarten and I came up with a little quote, “Washing hands is so neat, that you’ll get a treat”. The treat is the more they wash their hands, the quicker the mini erasers will fall out. You could also add in other things your child or students like.

After designing the quote or image, you will cut out using the vinyl settings. I cut out only enough vinyl that is needed for the area. Make sure the font isn’t too small or the weeding can be tricky.

Once the Cricut has cut out the quote, you will pull off the remaining vinyl and weed out the pieces you don’t need.

After weeding the pieces out of the handwashing sign, you will take transfer tape and place over the letters you want. I use a scraper to make sure the vinyl is sticking to the transfer tape. Once on the transfer tape, place it on the desired area. I then use the scraper again to make sure it is secure on the container before pulling off.

Once on the container, you will place the soap inside for students to use. This is perfect for individual student supplies and you can even put numbers or names with vinyl on the container so they know it’s theirs.
