Going to Ikea can be overwhelming but with my top 10 items you need on your Ikea Shopping List as a teacher, you will find ideas for your classroom storage, activities, and resources all in one spot.

I have put all of these Ikea items in my Teacher Secrets for an Ikea Classroom guide that you can find at the end! You can find each of these Ikea items on their website if you click on the photos below to make your own Ikea Shopping List.

Ikea Tips and Tricks

If you have never been to Ikea here are some things you should know. First, make sure to block out at least an hour or two. Second, wear your tennis shoes. Third, get the cinnamon rolls at the end for surviving!

Also, park near the exit! It will make packing up your car easier and getting out quicker.

The 10 items you need on your Ikea shopping list:

1. Ikea Fiestad Frameikea-classroom-favorites

The Ikea Tolsby Fiestad Frame is the number one item on your Ikea Shopping List because you get the most for your money (aka $1). If you have a classroom with limited wall space you can place these frames onto tables instead of hanging up posters. Use to hold anchor charts, signs to display centers, or for back to school to label where things go. It used to be an Ikea Tolsby Frame which you can still find on Amazon and other markets. Also, I use them in my Interactive Kindergarten Math Game, click here to read the blog post on how to play this game.

2. Ikea Plant Stand:

3. Ikea Sensory Table

If you said yes to any of those questions this is a must on your Ikea shopping list. This item is sure to make for an easy and quick clean-up. With this table, you can fit the Trofast Storage box underneath the tabletop with different depths.

4. Ikea Kallax Bookshelves

5. Ikea Pegboard

This is on the Ikea shopping list but be sure to add any extra accessories you want like clips, bins, shelves, and the lesson planner holder. This can be used by teachers, students, or both!

6. Ikea Rail:

Also, it is the ultimate Ikea item because I have used it in many ways. Like under my bulletin board to hold the calendar pieces and in my art center to hold buckets of art supplies. Check out all the different uses here in my Ikea Classroom Hacks post.

7. Ikea Trofast Bins:

8. Ikea Side Table:

9. Ikea Recycling Bins:

ikea-recycling-binsDuring my first two years of teaching I didn’t have cubbies for my students to put their backpacks or lunch boxes in. It was hard to find a solution for this but the Sortera recycling bin was the perfect place for my students to put their lunch boxes. This item was on my Ikea shopping list because they also stack on top of each other to save even more space.

10. Ikea Children’s Carpet:
