Things To Do In Nashville

all-about-nashville

Coming to Nashville, most people think about hitting up Broadway. Lots of bars, food, and dancing. But there is so much more to do in my favorite city. I have broken things down into categories of where to drink/eat, stay, shop, and sightsee aka where to find the best murals to take pictures in front of. As always, please feel free to tag me in any photos when you come to visit Nashville as I’d love to see what you did! Plus, there are so many things to do in Nashville that one place might lead you to another that you didn’t know existed.

Nashville Neighborhoods Map

Before I break down all of the categories above, Nashville is really broken down into small sections. We have Broadway, the most famous street of bars. There are also bars down the side streets, one of them being Printer’s Alley pictured below. Next, is the Gulch where the famous wing mural is by Kelsey Montague who now has murals all over the United States. Also, near the Gulch and Broadway is a place called Midtown home to the Winners and Losers bar, Kung Fu Saloon, and very close to Vanderbilt. Then, we have 12 South, more known to be a daytime place with cute shops including Draper James, aka Reese Witherspoon’s boutique. Lastly, we have East Nashville, an up-and-coming place with one of my favorite Mexican places, The Readhead Stranger.

Where to stay:

Whether you choose to stay downtown or near downtown there are lots of options. Some of my favorite hotels are:

  • Omni Hotel- great location with a pool
  • Renaissance Hotel- bridge lounge/bar connected to the hotel
  • Bobby’s Hotel- in the winter there are igloos on the rooftop

Things to do:

Well, you can’t come to Nashville and not shop. If you are looking to buy a pair of cowboy boots and/or a hat, the best place to get these is at boot barn, there are a couple of different locations. I also love going to Vici, Urban Outfitters, Kittenish, and the new shopping center on 5th& Broadway.

There are some rooftop pools that you can rent day passes from including The Graduate, Virgin Hotels, and W Nashville.

Looking for photo ops? Nashville has tons of murals from the gulch to 12th south plus on the sides of many restaurants/ stores so just keep your eyes peeled.

Anytime you come there is sure to be some sort of sporting event going on that is lots of fun from the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, Nashville Sounds, or Nashville SC. If you aren’t into sports then concerts and live music are always happening. If you can secure a ticket going to the BlueBird Cafe is top on my list, this is where Taylor Swift was discovered and was on the ABc/CMT show Nashville which you can still watch on Hulu.

There is so much to do in Nashville, if it is winter grab a reservation at the Bobby Hotel where you can eat/drink in rooftop Igloos, drive down to Arrington Vineyard for seasonal drinks, live music, and food trucks or try to find Amelia’s Flower truck or The Peach Cobbler truck driving around. Live music is everywhere but The Grand Ole Opry or the Ryman sometimes have popular artists playing so be on the lookout for their shows.
