Thanksgiving Turkey Craft – CVC Word Families – Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Students color and cut the turkey and its feathers, then write the missing letter on each feather before gluing them to the turkey.

There are three versions to fit different levels. Some students will fill in the first letter, others will write the whole word, and some can come up with their own words for the word family and draw or write each one.

The set includes 15 total activities with three word families for each short vowel.

• Short a: an, ap, at
• Short e: ed, en, et
• Short i: ig, in, it
• Short o: og, op, ot
• Short u: ub, ug, un

A teacher example is included so you can show your students what the finished project looks like. It’s an easy way to add word family practice to your turkey theme, and the finished turkeys make a super cute classroom display!
